Empowering Women for the Future: Bihar Agricultural University Hosts Workshop on Unlocking Potential

Sabour: A one-day workshop celebrating women and their contributions was held at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur, on March 8 to mark International Women’s Day. The event, themed “Unlocking Potential of Women to Boost Up Next Generation,” aimed to highlight the role of women in shaping future generations and fostering empowerment.

Organised by the university’s Director of Student Welfare, Dr J.N. Srivastava, under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Dr D.R. Singh, the workshop brought together distinguished guests, academics, and students. Among the speakers were Dr Sujata Sharma from NGO Pushyamitra and counselor at Bhagalpur Family Court, Ritu Jain, a chartered accountant and company secretary at PwC, as well as an Art of Living instructor. Women professors, university employees, and students also participated.

Empowering Women for the Future: Bihar Agricultural University Hosts Workshop on Unlocking Potential

The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by dignitaries, followed by a welcome address from Dr Sangeeta Shri, head of the Department of Vegetables and Flowers. Throughout the workshop, speakers emphasised the growing awareness and strength of women, stressing the need to inspire the next generation.

Dr D.R. Singh, in his address, underscored the importance of women in every sector, from agriculture to leadership roles in the country. He highlighted various university-led initiatives promoting women’s education and empowerment, calling for more such events on a larger scale.

The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr Ruby Rani, who expressed gratitude to the speakers, guests, and participants. The event saw the presence of university officials, including directors, deans, registrars, college principals, professors, and students, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to gender equality and empowerment.
