Madhepura: Prashant Kishore, on the sixth day of his current phase of padyatra in Bihar under the Jan Suraj Abhiyan, continued his journey in Madhepura on Wednesday, starting from Birgaon Chatra and proceeding to Shahpur via Sukhasan. He engaged with local residents and received a warm welcome with band-baja and drums, drawing a large crowd of youth and women.
Addressing the public meeting, Kishore criticized the 35-year rule of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar, comparing the people’s repeated voting for them to turning a roti (bread) at home. He pointed out that despite consistent complaints about lack of infrastructure, food, and proper housing, voters continue to elect leaders based on caste and religion, leading to the same ineffective governance.
Kishore highlighted the irony of citizens complaining for five years about unmet needs but still voting for the same leaders. He stressed that both the leaders and the voters share responsibility for the stagnant development in Bihar, and the situation will not improve unless there is a change in voting patterns.
He concluded by urging the citizens to initiate change within themselves to improve their lives. Kishore emphasized the importance of holding leaders accountable and breaking free from traditional voting habits to foster genuine progress in Bihar.
