Patna: A property dealer was shot dead in Masaurhi, Patna, on Saturday afternoon in a daylight attack. The deceased, identified as Chotan Yadav, also known as Mukesh Kumar, was a resident of Puranchak and ran a readymade garment shop named Maa Garment in Vijay Market.

According to police sources, Yadav had left his shop with a friend on a bike, heading towards Jehanabad, when he was ambushed by a group of 5-6 criminals in a Bolero vehicle. The attackers fired multiple shots at him before fleeing the scene.

Witnesses to the incident were left in panic, with locals running for cover at the sound of gunshots. The criminals managed to escape unchallenged.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, Masaurhi police swiftly arrived at the scene. The police have recovered eight bullet shells from the area. The body of the deceased has been sent to the sub-divisional hospital for a post-mortem examination.
