
Patna : Patna Sahib MP and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today inspected the ongoing construction of the new integrated terminal at Patna airport, expressing satisfaction with the pace of development. He was accompanied by Bihar minister Nitin Nabin and senior officials, including Joydeep Ganguly, General Manager (Project), Airport Director Umashankar, and Terminal Manager Anand Satsangi.
During the inspection, Ravi Shankar Prasad toured the site and reviewed the progress of the project. He directed the officials to ensure the completion of the first phase of the terminal by April, allowing passengers to benefit from the new facilities as soon as possible. Speaking to reporters after the visit, Ravi Shankar said he would request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the terminal during his upcoming visit to Bihar, describing the project as a “major gift” for the state.
“The renovated airport will provide improved facilities for millions of passengers,” Ravi Shankar said. The new terminal and associated passenger amenities are being developed at an estimated cost of Rs1,400 crore.
In addition to the work at Patna airport, Ravi Shankar Prasad highlighted the government’s broader plans under the UDAN scheme, which include the development of new airports in Bihta, Purnia, and Bhagalpur. Furthermore, two new greenfield airports have been proposed in Bhagalpur and Rajgir, reflecting the government’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity.
