Patna – In a significant leap towards futuristic healthcare solutions, AIIMS Patna, under the leadership of Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, accomplished a remarkable milestone on Monday.
Dr. G K Pal, the Executive Director, successfully demonstrated the implementation of a healthcare drone from AIIMS Patna Hospital to Naubatpur Primary Health Centre (PHC), situated 12 km away from the institute. This marks the third successful demonstration of a healthcare drone at AIIMS Patna.
The event witnessed active participation from key figures, including DDA Nilotpal Bal, Nodal Officer Dr. Sanjay Pandey, and Officer on Special Duty to Director, Dr. Anil Kumar. These individuals played pivotal roles in realizing this innovative initiative. Dr. G K Pal expressed his appreciation for the collaborative effort, congratulating his team and extending gratitude to Minister Mandaviya for his unwavering support.
This particular demonstration featured the drone’s journey from AIIMS to Naubatpur PHC, delivering essential medicines from the institute to the PHC. The initial two demonstrations were confined to the campus due to adverse weather conditions. However, this time, a drone carrying life-saving medicine successfully completed the round trip to Naubatpur, showcasing the efficiency of this innovative technology. The entire process took only 8 minutes, a stark contrast to the more than 30 minutes it would have taken by road, emphasizing the drone’s effectiveness in time-sensitive situations crucial for saving lives.
Dr. G K Pal stated that this innovative technology is poised to be a game-changer in situations where time plays a critical role in saving lives.
