Patna: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is grappling with internal dissent as some of its workers continue to defect to the Jan Suraj campaign, led by strategist Prashant Kishore. Despite warnings from RJD state president Jagdanand Singh, the exodus persists unabated.
Most recently, Ajit Yadav, formerly a prominent RJD figure in Bhagalpur serving as district spokesperson and associated with the party’s farmers cell, has left to join Jan Suraj. Joining him is Asha Jaiswal, who held key positions within the RJD, including district president of the women’s cell and a member of the Zilla Parishad from Sultanganj.
In response to these defections, Jagdanand Singh has taken drastic measures, expelling Yadav and Jaiswal from the party for six years.
