RJD MLC and Close Associate of Lalu Family Takes a Dig at Bihar CM Nitish

Patna: Controversy and discontent are brewing in the Bihar Assembly following Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s recent statement on women’s role in family planning. Adding to the chorus of criticism, Sunil Singh, a close aide of RJD chief Lalu Prasad and an MLC (Member of Legislative Council), has chastised CM Nitish in a veiled manner.

On social media, Sunil Singh took a pointed jab at the Chief Minister, suggesting that if Mahatma Gandhi were alive today, he might have been moved to sacrifice his life upon hearing such comments from contemporary leaders. He went on to remark that had he or any ordinary citizen made similar statements, they would have faced public outrage.

It is worth noting that MLC Sunil Singh is widely regarded as having close ties to the RJD’s first family and is even considered a brotherly figure to Lalu’s wife and former Bihar CM, Rabri Devi.

In a series of tweets, MLC Singh conveyed his sentiments. His first tweet read, “If I or any common person had committed such a despicable act, I would probably have been caught on a road, and people would have thrashed my face.”

His second tweet mused, “Le Balaiya, Yeh Kya Ho Gaya? Sharm Bhi Sharma Kar Sharmshar Ho Gaya! Ye To Dhoti Faad Kar Rumaal Ho Gaya! (Oh My God, what happened? Even shame itself would have felt ashamed in such a bizarre situation.)”

In the third tweet, he continued, “Agar Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi Ji Jinda Hote, To Desh Ke Aise Aise Murdhanya Netaon Ki Baaton Ko Sun Kar Salfas Ki Tikiya Kha Kar Pran Tyag Diye Hote (If the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhiji, had been alive, he would have sacrificed his life after listening to the words of such great leaders of the country, by eating a cake of Aluminum Phosphide poison!)”

MLC Sunil Singh is known to have strained relations with CM Nitish Kumar and has used social media as a platform to express his discontent on multiple occasions in recent months.
