Semi-Final Showdown in State-Level School Cricket Under-17 Tomorrow
Patna: The state-level school cricket under-17 competition has reached its semi-final stage, with Begusarai, Aurangabad, Nawada, and Gaya securing their spots. The semi-finals will be played tomorrow at Gandhi Stadium, Begusarai, and the final is scheduled for December 4.
In the quarterfinal matches, Begusarai defeated Kaimur in a dominant performance. Winning the toss and batting first, Begusarai scored 248 runs in 20 overs, led by vice-captain Jayant Gautam’s explosive 96 runs off 46 balls and captain Leka’s 75 runs off 38 balls. In response, Kaimur’s team managed only 78 runs in 20 overs, with Harsh and Jayant taking two and one wicket, respectively. For his stellar all-round performance, Jayant was awarded Man of the Match.
In the second quarterfinal, Aurangabad overpowered Arwal. Batting first, Aurangabad scored 220 runs in 20 overs, with Ravi Shankar contributing 91 runs off 50 balls and Vikas adding 62 runs off 30 balls. Arwal’s batting faltered, and they were all out for 74 runs in 13.1 overs. Aurangabad’s bowlers Saurabh and Badal claimed 4 and 3 wickets, respectively. Ravi Shankar earned the Man of the Match award for his brilliant batting display.
The quarterfinal matches drew large crowds, with spectators at Gandhi Stadium cheering enthusiastically for the players. The event, organized by the Bihar State Sports Authority, Sports Department, and District Administration Begusarai, showcased exceptional cricketing talent.
