‘Shoot Me in the Head’: Saloni Raj’s Fierce Fight Ends in Victory at Patna University Elections

Patna: Independent candidate Saloni Raj has scripted history in the Patna University Students’ Union elections, winning the General Secretary post by a landslide margin. She secured 4,274 votes, defeating ABVP’s Ankit Raj, who managed 1,899 votes.
However, her journey to victory was far from smooth. Just days before the election, a violent clash near Magadh Mahila College saw Saloni and her supporters attacked. The incident escalated tensions on campus, and Saloni’s response became a rallying cry after a video of her fiery outburst went viral on social media.
‘Come and Shoot Me’ – A Battle Cry That Shook the Campus
Following the attack, Saloni’s raw and unfiltered defiance was caught on camera. Initially reluctant to speak, she eventually erupted in anger:
“Whoever has done this… shoot at my face. Shoot at my head. Why do you do this to my people? We give you an open challenge.“
Accusing her rivals of attempting to intimidate an independent female candidate, she challenged the status quo:
“You have mistaken me for a girl and thought I am weak… This time, a girl will win and rule the student union. You think you can scare us? I will not stop. I will not stop.“
Her fearless words resonated across the student community, fueling an unstoppable wave of support.
A Symbol of Defiance and Change
Saloni Raj’s victory marks a significant moment in Patna University’s history, with an independent candidate, unaffiliated with major student organizations, emerging triumphant. Her campaign, shaped by grit and determination, defied male dominance and political strongholds.
As the dust settles, her resounding victory sends a strong message—the student politics of Patna University is witnessing a new era, led by fearless voices unwilling to bow down.
