Shravani Mahotsav 2024: A Celebration of Dance and Environmental Awareness at Patna Women’s College
Patna: Patna Women’s College celebrated Shravani Mahotsav on Saturday, in Mother Theodosia Hall. A total of 10 groups participated in the Shravani Dance Competition, showcasing the essence of saavan with impactful and enthralling dance performances. This year’s theme, “Humari Dharti, Humara Bhavishya,” was portrayed through their dances, focusing on themes like saving the earth, environmental conservation, and farmers’ rights. Participants performed to songs such as “Khetwa mei sohe kisan ho,” “Aare Badra, Kaare Badra,” and “Banna re.”
Amrita Prakash, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Applications, encouraged the participants and explained the major points of judgment, emphasizing theme depiction through dance, expression, costume, and group coordination. Towards the end, Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal of Patna Women’s College (PWC), appreciated the students for their thrilling performances and motivated them. The event’s jury members included Dr. Manjula Sushila, Head of the Department of Hindi, Amrita Prakash, and Dr. Prabhat Jha, from the Department of English.
The entire event was successfully organized under the guidance of Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal, and Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Vice Principal of PWC. The event was well-coordinated by Cultural Coordinators Dr. Sister Celine Crasta A.C., Head of the Department of History, Enakshi Dey Biswas, Coordinator of Performing Arts, and Puja Kumari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce. The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Sakshi, Jt. General Secretary of PWC. The programme was compered by Srishti Singh, Cultural Secretary, and Khushi, Jt. Environment and Discipline Secretary of the Student Council 2024-25.
