Shubham Kumar Appointed Bhagalpur DDC as Bihar Reshuffles 18 IAS and IPS Officers

Patna: The Bihar government on Tuesday carried out a significant reshuffle in its administrative ranks, transferring 12 IAS and 6 IPS officers across the state. According to a notification issued by the General Administration Department, all 12 IAS officers have been appointed as Deputy Development Commissioners (DDCs) in various districts.

Among the transferred officers is UPSC 2020 topper Shubham Kumar, who has been given the crucial post of DDC in Bhagalpur, marking a significant step in his administrative career.

Officials said the move is aimed at boosting development initiatives and improving governance in the districts. The government has instructed all officers to assume their new roles with immediate effect.

In parallel, the Home Department also announced the transfer of six IPS officers. Those reassigned include:

  • Rajiv Ranjan-1 (IPS 2012)
  • Rakesh Kumar Sinha (IPS 2012)
  • Pankaj Kumar (IPS 2013)
  • Anant Kumar Rai (IPS 2016)
  • Manish Kumar Sinha (IPS 2018)
  • Rajesh Kumar (IPS 2018)

These IPS officers have been posted to different districts in line with the state’s effort to strengthen law enforcement and enhance the efficiency of the police administration.

Sources indicate that this reshuffle may be part of a broader administrative shake-up, with more transfers likely in the coming days. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is reportedly closely monitoring the functioning of the bureaucracy and has emphasised faster implementation of development schemes.
