Special Screening of “Lachminiya” Held in Patna with Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha

Patna: A special screening of the Hindi film “Lachminiya” was organized in Patna, attended by Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Art, Culture, and Youth Department Vijay Kumar Sinha. The film, produced under the banners of Filmenia Film Factory and Natarang Entertainment, was directed by Ritesh S Kumar, hailing from Lakhisarai. During the event, the Deputy Chief Minister launched the film’s poster and praised its thematic focus, stating that “Lachminiya” raises critical questions regarding the caste structure and social inequality in Bihar.
Sinha congratulated the film’s team, emphasizing its potential to promote prosperity and values in Bihar. He remarked that the film’s message encourages society to transcend caste and religious divisions, promoting unity for collective advancement. Highlighting the pride in local talent, he noted that the film was produced by Lakhisarai’s Ajitabh Tiwari and directed by Ritesh S Kumar, advocating for the elimination of caste discrimination as vital for Bihar’s development.
The film features Tanushree Chatterjee and Sintu Singh Sagar in lead roles. Director Ritesh S Kumar underscored the film’s social message, asserting that all sections of society must unite for Bihar’s development. Actress Tanushree Chatterjee expressed her enthusiasm for participating in an art film, grateful to the director for the opportunity after 18 years of her career. Actor Sintu Singh Sagar noted that the film reflects everyday life and aims to connect with audiences.
The film team has appealed to the Bihar government to declare “Lachminiya” tax-free, ensuring its important message reaches a wider audience. Producer Ajitabh Tiwari reiterated this request, emphasizing that increased viewership could inspire many. The film, shot at various locations across Bihar, including Lakhisarai, features significant contributions from local artists and is set for a nationwide release in November. The special screening also included a media session, allowing the star cast and crew, including director Ritesh S Kumar, producer Ajitabh Tiwari, actress Tanushree Chatterjee, actor Sintu Singh Sagar, and film director Sanjeev Soni, to engage with attendees.
