St. Karen’s High School Launches Spectacular “Festival of Books and Reading” in Patna
Patna: St. Karen’s High School (SKHS), in collaboration with Scholastic, unveiled its highly anticipated “Festival of Books and Reading” on Friday, setting the stage for a literary journey that promises to captivate students and literature enthusiasts alike.
The festivities commenced with an auspicious inaugural ceremony at 9 am, featuring the symbolic lighting of the inaugural lamp, symbolizing the enlightenment that literature brings. SKHS Principal Seema Singh extended a warm welcome, followed by a motivational address from the school’s Academic Director, Sharon Galstaun, establishing the tone for the literary extravaganza.
Dr. Shankar Dutt, the esteemed chief guest for the day, delivered a thought-provoking address, emphasizing the pivotal role of literature in education. Sarvagya Anupam, the head boy, provided a student’s perspective with an insightful speech, highlighting the significance of literature in shaping young minds.
The morning culminated in the official inauguration of the festival by Academic Director Sharon Galstaun and Chief Guest Dr. Shankar Dutt. An enriching cultural program followed, showcasing the diverse talents of the students.
As the day progressed, the festival seamlessly evolved into a compelling sequence of literary presentations. Simi Srivastava captivated the audience with her enthralling storytelling, weaving narratives that held the listeners in rapt attention. Following suit, Lalita Iyer shared insightful perspectives, actively interacting with the audience through her engaging storytelling techniques.
The intellectual excitement continued with Adittya Nath Mubayi taking on the role of Quiz Master, challenging students with his expansive knowledge and creating an interactive and stimulating atmosphere. Rituparna Ghosh then took center stage, enchanting the audience with her mesmerizing storytelling that transported listeners to captivating realms.
Ajit Narayan, an accomplished Author and Cartoonist, brought a delightful twist to the proceedings, showcasing his dual talents. With a blend of words and illustrations, he succeeded in both entertaining and enlightening the audience. Adding to the enriching experience, Scharada Dubey shared profound insights and perspectives, drawing from her esteemed authorship, and leaving the audience with food for thought.
