St. Michael’s High School Inspires Environmental Action with Plantation Drive
Patna: St. Michael’s High School (SMHS) took a definitive step towards environmental stewardship on Monday with its annual Plantation Drive, held on Monday. Aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of environmental conservation among students, the primary section of SMHS organized the event from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., urging young minds to embrace the imperative of tree planting in combating pollution.
Students exhibited enthusiasm as they planted a variety of medicinal, ornamental, and shade plants. The event was not merely practical but also educational, featuring stage performances that underscored the urgency of ecological preservation and the role of tree planting in safeguarding our planet.
Distinguished guests including Dr. Prem Kumar, Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Satyajit, Director of Patna Zoo, and Abhishek Kumar, Director, Horticulture Directorate, graced the occasion. The program commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting and the symbolic garlanding of an Earth model, signifying the commitment to environmental protection.
Highlighting the day’s significance was a captivating street play, emphasizing the crucial need for tree planting and nature conservation. Students showcased their talents through speeches, songs, and poetry, inspiring all present to adopt more sustainable lifestyles.
