St. Xavier’s College Hosts Voter Awareness Drive Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections in Patna
Patna: Under the directives of Patna District Election Officer-cum-District Magistrate, Shirshat Kapil Ashok is witnessing an extensive voter awareness initiative aimed at augmenting voter turnout in the ensuing Lok Sabha General Election of 2024. In this vein, a voter awareness program was conducted on Monday at St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology, Digha, targeting students, teachers, and staff.
Patna’s District Public Relations Officer (DPRO), Lokesh Kumar Jha, graced the event as the chief guest, urging residents of Patna Sahib and Pataliputra constituencies to exercise their franchise on June 1. Dr. Neetu Kumari Navgeet, Patna’s district SVEEP icon, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the importance of collective familial participation in the electoral process.
DPRO Jha underscored Bihar’s pivotal role as the cradle of democracy, emphasizing the ongoing voter awareness endeavors across the district under the aegis of the District Election Officer-cum-District Magistrate. He engaged with attendees, elucidating on polling booth facilities, toll-free helplines, alternative identification documents, and other Election Commission provisions. Addressing prevalent misconceptions surrounding voting procedures, Jha provided comprehensive guidance, reaffirming India’s status as the world’s largest democracy and stressing the imperative of active citizen participation.
Dr. Neetu Kumari Navgeet, renowned for her folk compositions, administered a voting oath and stirred enthusiasm among participants through spirited jingles and awareness songs. Leveraging her national and international acclaim, she captivated the audience with musical renditions advocating for voting consciousness, encapsulating sentiments of civic duty and national pride.
Students from St. Xavier College of Management shared insights on democracy, with DPRO Jha encouraging young voters to recognize the significance of their electoral rights.
