
Kargahar: A grand felicitation ceremony was held in village Kushhi, Kargahar block of Rohtas district to honour Dinesh Kumar Rai, Secretary in the Revenue and Land Reforms Department of the Bihar government, following his recent promotion.
The celebratory procession began at Belvaiya Chowk in Dinara block, where thousands of people assembled to welcome the officer. Organisers claimed that nearly 1,200 vehicles formed part of the convoy. The warm reception continued at Dinara Baldev High School, where Rai was honoured by local residents under the leadership of Manoj Patel of the Patel Yuva Manch.
The procession moved through several key locations, with local leaders and residents welcoming Rai at Patel Nagar in Kochas Bazaar, Chitav Bridge, Kochas Chauraha, and numerous villages including Parasia, Balthari, Semriya Chhalka, Dibhia, Sirsia Mod, Pandeypur, and Soni.
At each stop, floral tributes were offered at statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar. Upon reaching Kushhi, Rai paid homage to his late father, Ramayan Rai, fondly known as “Mukhiya Ji”, by garlanding his statue before addressing the crowd.
In his speech, Rai urged the youth to remain engaged with education, contribute to their communities, and stay rooted in the rural ethos of Bihar. The event featured participation from local elected representatives including mukhiyas, BDC members, sarpanches, and various social figures.
The felicitation ceremony witnessed enthusiastic attendance from an estimated 7,000 people, representing all communities across the blocks of Kochas, Kargahar, and Shivsagar.
