Patna: A student was kidnapped at gunpoint by students from Saidpur hostel near the Geography Department of Patna College on Friday. He was forcefully taken to the hostel on a bike, where he was brutally beaten. Upon receiving information, the Pirbahor and Bahadurpur police, along with a Dial 112 team, swiftly raided the Saidpur hostel.

The student, Aman Kumar Lal, was found in one of the hostel rooms and immediately admitted to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in critical condition. Police searched every room of the hostel and detained four suspicious students, who are now being interrogated at the Pirbahor police station.

According to sources, the victim student, a resident of Gardanibagh and a Geography honours graduate from Patna College, was targeted by a group of students who arrived at the college on four bikes, carrying weapons. The group was reportedly led by students from Begusarai and Samastipur.

The incident is suspected to be linked to the Harsh Raj murder case. Police sources suggest that the student’s kidnapping and assault were carried out as an act of revenge. Town DSP-1 Ashok Kumar Singh, along with a team led by Central SP Sweety Sahrawat, revealed that the student had recently posted a picture of Chandan Kumar, one of the accused in the Harsh Raj case, on his social media status. This act allegedly provoked the attackers.

Chandan Kumar, currently in jail for his involvement in the Harsh Raj case, appears to be the central figure in this retaliatory attack. Police are continuing their investigation and conducting raids to arrest the accused students involved in the kidnapping and assault.
