Students Bring Business Law to Life in Patna Women’s College Role Play Contest

Patna: The Department of Commerce Professional at Patna Women’s College brought the classroom to the stage on Wednesday with a dynamic Role Play Competition that tested students’ knowledge of business law in a creative and practical setting.

Held on campus, the event invited participants to interpret and perform legal scenarios drawn from the Indian Contract Act and the Sale of Goods Act, turning complex legislation into compelling courtroom-style dramatizations. The aim: to deepen understanding of key business regulations while promoting teamwork, analytical thinking, and presentation skills.

The competition attracted wide participation from B.Com (Professional) Semester-II students, with additional attendees from the B.Com (Accounting and Finance) programme. The air was one of enthusiasm and scholarly engagement, as students took to the stage to argue cases, resolve disputes, and unravel the intricacies of contractual law.

Dean and Head of the Department of Commerce, Dr. Soofia Fatima, offered closing remarks, commending the students’ preparation and performance. The panel of judges included Dr. Pallawi Ambresh Kumar, Head of the BBA Department, and Dr. Shazia Rahman, Head of the AMM Department.

The winners were also announced to much applause: Monalisa and her group clinched first place, followed by Drishti and group in second, while Yashika and group took third.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Soofia Fatima, CS Shweta Shah (Co-ordinator, Department of Commerce Professional), and Ms. Mona Kumari (Assistant Professor). Volunteers from the Semester-II B.Com (Professional) cohort ensured the event ran smoothly.
