SVU Raids Patna Forest Officer’s Properties, Uncovers Disproportionate Assets Worth Over Rs 46 Lakh

A special vigilance team has raided multiple properties linked to suspended forest officer Subodh Kumar Gupta in Patna, uncovering assets valued at Rs 46,36,400 more than his known income.

Patna: The Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) has launched a major crackdown on suspended Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Subodh Kumar Gupta, unearthing property and cash vastly exceeding his legal income. Raids were carried out on Tuesday at his flat in Amba Apartment, Patna, and other locations tied to him and his family.

Investigators reported discovering disproportionate assets amounting to Rs 46,36,400. Subodh, who was posted as Forest Conservator in Purnia, had reportedly gone untraceable prior to the raids.

According to the SVU, a wide array of movable and immovable properties were found in Subodh’s name as well as those of his wife, Meenu Gupta, son Swapnil, and daughter Sushmita. Among the holdings:

  • A house on East Boring Canal Road, Patna (Holding No. 495/414)
  • House No. 23 in Krishna Nagar Housing Colony in Meenu Gupta’s name
  • Multiple flats and shops across Raj Krishna Apartment, Silver Coast Apartment in Danapur, and Aqua City on Usri Bandh Road
  • Plots in Lalganj (Vaishali) and Rajgir (Nalanda)
  • Cash deposits of Rs 41 lakh in joint accounts
  • Substantial quantities of jewellery

The Amba Apartment flat itself is valued at approximately Rs 50 lakh.
