Technical Fault Halts Vande Bharat Train, Passengers Face Disruption
Patna: Passengers traveling aboard the Vande Bharat train from Kolkata to Patna encountered significant disruptions due to a technical fault, prompting railway authorities to arrange alternative transportation for affected individuals.
The glitch, which occurred near Durgapur late Tuesday night, resulted in the train’s brake system jamming, leading to inconvenience for passengers. In response, railway officials swiftly organized the transfer of passengers to Patna via an alternate train on Wednesday.
Arun Prakash, General Manager of the East Central Railway, assured that passengers were attended to at every station, including Mokama and Patna City, where they were provided with guidance and assistance. Passengers were also given the option of immediate ticket refunds, with approximately 129 individuals who possessed physical tickets already refunded, while those with e-tickets will receive automatic refunds.
Efforts to rectify the technical issue are underway, as indicated by Jayant Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Danapur. Kumar stated that engineers are actively addressing the problem, with plans for a trial run to ensure the prevention of similar issues in the future. He expressed confidence that the measures being implemented will avert future disruptions.
