Tejas Rajdhani Inaugurates New Route via Jamalpur-Kiul-Patna
JAMALPUR: A momentous occasion unfolds as the Tejas Rajdhani embarks on its maiden journey to New Delhi (Anand Vihar Terminal) via the scenic route of Malda-Bhagalpur-Jamalpur-Kiul-Patna, commencing from January 16. This historic day holds special significance for Munger district, marking the realization of a demand persisting for two decades.
The Tejas Rajdhani, originating from Agartala, sets off every Monday at 3:10 pm, reaching Jamalpur station in Munger at 07:25 pm on Tuesday evening. The launch of the Rajdhani Express via Jamalpur-Kiul-Patna is the culmination of a public movement advocating for this route for the past 20 years.
The Tejas Rajdhani Express boasts a configuration of 11 AC-3 coaches, including three second AC coaches and one first air-conditioned coach. The train comprises a total of 18 coaches, featuring one pantry car and two power cars, with the possibility of adjusting the number of coaches based on passenger demand.
Train No. 20501 Agartala-Tejas Rajdhani Express departs from Agartala every Monday, reaching Bhagalpur and Jamalpur on Tuesday evening en route to Anand Vihar Terminal. Conversely, Train No. 20502 Tejas Rajdhani embarks from Anand Vihar Terminal on Wednesday evening, connecting with Jamalpur and Bhagalpur passengers on Thursday evening, bound for NJP, Guwahati, and Agartala.
On the up route, Train No. 20501 departs from Agartala at 3.10 pm on Monday, stopping at various stations, including New Jalpaiguri, Malda Town, Bhagalpur, and Jamalpur, before reaching Anand Vihar at 10.50 am on Wednesday.
Conversely, on the down route, Train No. 20502 departs from Anand Vihar at 7.50 pm on Wednesday, making stops at Kanpur Central, DDU, Patna Junction, Jamalpur, Bhagalpur, Malda Town, and New Jalpaiguri before reaching Agartala at 3.40 pm on Friday.
