Tejashwi Yadav attacks BJP and Nitish Kumar in Gaya rally, calls Belaganj by-election a fight to “save the Constitution”

Tejashwi Yadav Vows to Win Bihar in 2025 After By-Election Defeat

Gaya: RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav has launched a scathing attack on the BJP and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the run-up to the Belaganj assembly by-election in Gaya. Speaking at a rally, he invoked his father, Lalu Prasad, saying: “Lalu says if even a buffalo couldn’t defeat Yadav, then how will the BJP?”

Tejashwi didn’t hold back in his criticism, targeting central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as well, which he accused of harassing his family. “Many cases have been filed against us, but we aren’t afraid,” he asserted, adding, “We will fight the BJP till our last breath.”

He also confirmed that his father, Lalu, despite being unwell, intends to join the campaign in Gaya on November 11. Tejashwi appealed to the voters to ensure victory for the RJD candidate, framing the by-election as a key step toward winning the 2025 assembly elections. “This by-election is not trivial; it’s a fight to save the Constitution,” he said, describing RJD’s lantern symbol as a beacon of resistance against what he called BJP’s “dictatorial attitude.”

Tejashwi also took aim at Nitish Kumar, recalling how RJD had made him Chief Minister despite being the largest party. “Nitish had said he would never join BJP, that he’d be reduced to dust before that,” Tejashwi remarked, accusing him of shifting allegiances over the years. “Lalu never compromised with BJP. He will fight till his last breath to oust them.”

The rally also featured VIP party chief Mukesh Sahni, who voiced support for the RJD’s message. The by-election will take place on November 13, with results expected to signal the strength of the INDIA alliance and, Tejashwi hopes, bolster the opposition’s momentum heading into the next assembly polls.
