Tejashwi Yadav dismisses India Alliance post-Lok Sabha polls, criticises Nitish government’s record

Patna: Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, has said that the INDI Alliance, formed ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, holds no significance beyond the polls. Speaking on Wednesday, Tejashwi emphasised that the INDI Alliance was created solely to counter the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the national level. “It was formed to stop the victory chariot of the BJP. Now it has no importance,” he said. On the question of the RJD contesting the Delhi Assembly elections, Tejashwi stated that no decision had been made yet.

The lack of collaboration between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress in Delhi has raised eyebrows, particularly as Bihar prepares for assembly elections later this year. Political manoeuvring for seat-sharing has already begun, with the RJD reportedly offering Congress 35-40 seats, far below the Bihar Congress president Dr Akhilesh Prasad Singh’s demand for at least 70 seats.

Meanwhile, Tejashwi launched a scathing attack on Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accusing his administration of failing the state’s youth and wasting public funds. “The tired Chief Minister, along with retired officials, has turned the hope of Bihar’s youth into despair. Hundreds of crores are being spent on false propaganda through advertisements,” he said.

Tejashwi criticised the state government’s performance, pointing to infrastructure failures and examination scandals. “Bihar’s progress has been thrown into the fire of misery. Under the leadership of an insensitive government, hundreds of bridges collapse in a single monsoon. For the past two decades, all types of examinations have been plagued by paper leaks and fraud,” he added.
