Tension Mounts as Bihar Prepares for Tomorrow’s Floor Test: Dinner of BJP MLAs at Deputy CM Vijay Sinha’s Residence, Grand Alliance Chooses Tejashwi as Leader
Patna: The political landscape in Bihar is fraught with tension as the Nitish Kumar-led government braces for a crucial floor test scheduled for Monday.
A meeting of JDU MLAs at Minister Vijay Chaudhary’s residence lasted for one and a half hours. However, the absence of four MLAs, including Bima Bharti, Sanjeev Singh, Dilip Rai, and Sudarshan, raised eyebrows, as they had also skipped a banquet organized at Minister Shravan Kumar’s bungalow on Saturday.
Following the meeting, Vijay Chaudhary expressed determination, stating, “As CM, we will achieve a majority at any cost. The 2 or 3 MLAs who have not come have duly informed the party. The first thing tomorrow will be the Governor’s address, followed by a no-confidence motion against the Assembly Speaker.”
Adding to the dynamics, Congress MLAs arrived in Patna from Hyderabad, converging at Tejashwi Yadav’s residence upon landing. Notably, in a significant move, all MLAs from RJD-Congress and the Left, in the presence of Lalu Yadav, have unanimously elected Tejashwi Yadav as their leader at the bungalow of the former Deputy CM.
Simultaneously, BJP MLAs, who had been lodged in a Gaya hotel for two days, have now arrived in Patna via three buses. They are set to attend a dinner at the residence of Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha, with Bihar in-charge Vinod Tawde accompanying them.
