Thousands of Biharis in Kolkata Join Let's Inspire Bihar Campaign, Vikas Vaibhav Leads the Charge

Kolkata: The Kolkata chapter of Let’s Inspire Bihar hosted a significant meeting at the Press Club of Kolkata today, drawing thousands of native Biharis who have rallied behind the campaign’s vision for a prosperous Bihar. The event was marked by the grand arrival of IPS officer Vikas Vaibhav, who has played a pivotal role in the initiative.

Vaibhav, who received a warm welcome from members of the Kolkata chapter, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support. He emphasized the significance of unity in the pursuit of Bihar’s future, stating, “The large number of people joining in Kolkata shows that, despite breaking the shackles of caste, religion, gender discrimination, ideological differences, and geographical distances, a large section of native Biharis—millions strong—has resolved to unite and build the brightest future for Bihar.”

The campaign, which focuses on entrepreneurship and community development, has garnered significant momentum. Vaibhav highlighted the ongoing “revolution of entrepreneurship” that is being fueled by collective energy from Biharis worldwide, with promising signs for the state’s economic future.

During the meeting, several key figures associated with the Kolkata chapter also shared their thoughts. Shakeel Ahmed, Mangalam Kumar, Maulana Shabbir Ali Warsi, Shashi Shekhar, Kamran Ali, Kamal Singh, Anil Singh, and others expressed their commitment to strengthening the Let’s Inspire Bihar movement in Kolkata.

The campaign, launched by Vaibhav in March 2021, aims to establish a prosperous Bihar by 2047, ensuring that no Bihari will have to leave the state for education, employment, or healthcare. The core principles of education, equity, and entrepreneurship are at the heart of the campaign, which strives to overcome deep-seated divisions such as casteism, communalism, and gender discrimination.

This initiative is further exemplified by the Bihar @ 2047 Vision Conclave, which was held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi on December 22, drawing over 2,000 Biharis. Following this, the Kolkata event continues the campaign’s outreach, with more than 10,000 successful entrepreneurs and over 150,000 volunteers now involved.

The Let’s Inspire Bihar campaign has already made its mark in several cities, including Dubai, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, and Vadodara, where entrepreneurs regularly offer guidance to startups. Additionally, the Jeevak chapter, formed by medical professionals, has organized over 250 free health camps, benefitting over 40,000 underprivileged individuals. Meanwhile, the women-led Gargi chapter operates 18 free education centers across eight districts of Bihar, empowering women and underprivileged students through skill development and entrepreneurship.
