Toll Hike on Patna-Bakhtiyarpur Route from April 1

Patna : Travellers using the 181.3 km stretch between Patna and Bakhtiyarpur on National Highway 30 will face higher toll charges starting from April 1. According to Prabhakar Singh, manager of the Patna-Bakhtiyarpur toll plaza, the increase of 3 to 3.5 percent will come into effect from midnight on April 1, following directives from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
The toll plaza at Didarganj, which sees around 17,000 to 19,000 vehicles daily, will now charge higher fees from both small and large vehicles. During the wedding season, the number of vehicles passing through the plaza often rises to about 20,000. Residents living within a 20 km radius of the toll plaza will be required to pay a monthly fee of Rs 350 for non-commercial vehicles, with passes issued upon payment.
Singh also confirmed that all vehicles passing through the toll are equipped with FASTag, ensuring automatic deduction of toll charges. A similar increase of around 2.5 percent was implemented in 2024.
Exemptions and Facilities
Certain vehicles, including government vehicles, ambulances, army vehicles, police vehicles, postal department vehicles, and hearses, will continue to be exempt from toll charges.
The toll plaza offers several facilities, including a 24-hour ambulance service, crane assistance for removing accident vehicles, drinking water, public toilets, and first aid.
