Tourist Steamer Service to Launch on Ganges in Patna with Jetties at Janardhan and Kangan Ghats

Patna : A new steamer service is set to be launched on the Ganges, offering tourists a scenic ride between Janardhan Ghat in Digha and Kangan Ghat in Patna City. The initiative, led by the state’s tourism department, aims to boost river-based tourism in the region.

Jetties will be installed at both ghats to facilitate the service. Additionally, steamers will operate between Digha and Sonpur, with plans to extend the route to the historic Hariharnath Temple in Sonpur.

Tourism Minister Raju Kumar Singh has directed officials to explore the feasibility of the project, and preparations are now underway. The state’s tourism department and tourism corporation are overseeing the development.

Alongside the steamer service, the government is also working on curated tour packages for key tourist destinations, including Gaya, Vaishali, Nalanda, the Tiger Reserve, Kaimur, and Nawada. These packages will be offered at affordable rates to attract more visitors to Bihar’s heritage and natural attractions.
