Traffic Alterations Unveiled in Patna Ahead of Bhim Sansad Event

Patna: Patna is gearing up for ruling JD (U)’s Bhim Sansad event scheduled at Veterinary Ground on Sunday, prompting substantial adjustments to the city’s traffic flow. In a bid to facilitate regular commuters, traffic authorities have implemented route diversions, effective from Saturday at 11pm to Sunday at 10pm, accompanied by restrictions on truck entry during this period.

Emergency service vehicles, such as ambulances and fire brigades, are exempt from these traffic modifications.

Varied directives have been issued for vehicles based on their origins:

  • Vehicles from Northern Bihar have the option to use Atal Path via JP Setu or choose routes leading to Meethapur Old Bus Stand, Gardanibagh Ground, or Gardanibagh High School Ground from Mahatma Gandhi Setu.
  • Larger vehicles originating from Southern Bihar are advised to utilize the New Bypass route leading to the Old Bus Stand.
  • Vehicles from the West, including Buxar and Maner, are directed via Patliputra Path from Khagaul Lakh towards Atal Path.
  • VIPs and pass holder vehicles have designated parking areas near Fulwari Jail, including multiple lots at Meethapur Old Bus Stand, Patna High School Ground, Gardanibagh Hospital vicinity, Fulwari Jail rear, Miller High School Ground, Sultan Palace, and Atal Path at AR Block.

Temporary diversions impact specific routes:

  • Vehicle movement is restricted from Chitkohra to Patel Golambar.
  • Diverted routes from Gardanibagh or Anisabad Golambar are currently in effect.
  • Vehicles traveling from Phulwarisharif Jail towards the Airport should follow Jagdeo Path Road or Tumtum Padav.
  • Patel Golambar or Dumra Chowk provides access to airport ticket-bearing vehicles. Commercial operations on Atal Path, Jagdeo Path Road, and Hardinge Road face restrictions. Business vehicles heading to Hardinge Road will be redirected from Chitkohra South to Meethapur via GPO and Karbigahiya.
  • Commuters from Aranya Bhavan to BMP will encounter a lack of regular parking spaces.
