Traffic Park and Road Safety Exhibition Draw Crowds at Bihar Diwas Event in Patna

Patna:On the occasion of Bihar Diwas, the Transport Department organized an exhibition at Gandhi Maidan on the theme Unnat Bihar, Vikasit Bihar. The event was inaugurated by Transport Department Minister Sheela Kumari, who inspected the stalls and appreciated the department’s efforts in raising awareness about road safety and eco-friendly transport. A large crowd gathered at the pavilion, where various exhibits and activities engaged visitors throughout the day.

A major highlight of the exhibition was the Traffic Park, designed to educate children about road safety rules in an interactive manner. Through practical demonstrations of traffic signals, zebra crossings, and safe road practices, children learned essential safety measures. Additionally, a puppet show provided engaging lessons on road safety for both kids and adults. Virtual reality simulations and augmented reality displays helped visitors understand accident causes and prevention methods.

Transport Secretary Sanjay Kumar Agarwal encouraged people to install electric vehicle charging stations in apartment complexes and private areas, with subsidies available from the state government. The pavilion also showcased electric and CNG vehicles, including four-wheelers, two-wheelers, and public transport options, highlighting government incentives for promoting eco-friendly mobility. Citizens were given on-the-spot facilities such as free eye checkups for drivers, student pass issuance, and mobile number updates in driving licenses and registration certificates via QR code scanning.

A signature campaign was launched, urging visitors to pledge their commitment to road safety. School children participated in painting and slogan competitions, spreading awareness about safe driving practices. Outstanding contributors to road safety awareness were honored in the Superhit Hero Competition. The Transport Department’s initiative successfully combined education, engagement, and practical solutions, reinforcing the importance of responsible road behavior and sustainable transport in Bihar.
