Tragedy on Mahashivratri: Six Youths Drown in Ganga at Patna, Two Dead, Four Missing

Patna: Two youths drowned, and four others remain missing after a group of six was swept away while bathing at Collectorate Ghat in Patna on Wednesday. State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams and police from Gandhi Maidan police station are conducting rescue operations.
The deceased have been identified as Abhishek (25) and Rajneesh (21), both residents of Krishna Niwas Yadav Lane Lodge, Patna College.
According to eyewitnesses, ten youths had arrived at the ghat in two groups—six from the lodge and four locals. Among them, Ashish, Sachin, Vishal, Rajneesh, Abhishek, and Golu entered the river. When they started drowning, a boatman threw a bamboo pole, managing to save Ashish and Sachin.
The bodies of Abhishek and Rajneesh have been recovered, while searches continue for Vishal, Rehan, Govind, and Sonu. Of the missing, Rehan, Govind, and Sonu are minors, while Vishal is an adult.
