Tragic Road Accident Claims Nine Lives in Kaimur District
Patna: A devastating road accident on NH2 near Devkali in the Mohania police station area of Kaimur district resulted in the loss of nine lives late on Sunday evening. The incident, which occurred when a Scorpio SUV collided with a container truck, left the scene strewn with wreckage and tragedy.
Reports indicate that the Scorpio, traveling from Sasaram to Varanasi, veered out of control near Devkali village, striking a motorcyclist, breaching the divider, and careening into oncoming traffic, where it collided head-on with the container truck. The collision proved fatal, claiming the lives of all nine occupants of the Scorpio and the unfortunate motorcyclist.
In the wake of the accident, traffic congestion ensued on NH2 as authorities rushed to the scene to investigate and manage the aftermath.
Expressing profound sorrow over the tragic incident, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. He remarked, “This accident is deeply saddening, and my heart goes out to the victims and their families. I pray for the strength of the affected families to endure this moment of profound grief.”
The Chief Minister directed the Kaimur District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police, deployed at the accident site, to ensure the provision of adequate medical care to the injured and wished them a speedy recovery.
