
Patna: With preparations underway for the upcoming Bihar Assembly General Election 2025, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer organised a one-day training workshop in Patna on Tuesday, aimed at sharpening administrative readiness and reinforcing best practices among election officials.
Held at the Convention Bhawan in the Irrigation Bhawan Complex, the session brought together Deputy Chief Electoral Officers from all divisions, district-level election officers, training nodal officers, and sub-election officers. The event focused on addressing common procedural errors, improving voter turnout through strategic time management, and enhancing the use of training tools such as presentations and video materials.
The workshop was jointly inaugurated by Bihar’s Chief Electoral Officer, Vinod Singh Gunjiyal, and Jharkhand’s CEO, K. Ravi Kumar, who also served as the chief guest. They were joined by Jharkhand Deputy CEO D.D. Dutta, who offered practical insights drawn from recent electoral experiences.
Key themes included handling challenges across different election phases, resolving logistical issues, and gathering feedback from officers to improve future training modules. The initiative is seen as a critical step towards ensuring transparency, fairness and operational efficiency in the upcoming elections. Senior officials, including Additional Secretary Madhav Kumar Singh and Deputy Chief Electoral Officers Ratnambar Nilay and Manoj Kumar Singh, were also present.
