Gopalganj: Two five-year-old twin sisters were found murdered in Gopalganj, Bihar, after being strangled and having mud stuffed into their mouths. The victims, identified as Rishi and Rishika, were nursery students. Their bodies were discovered in a mustard field, a kilometre from their home in Jagdishpur village, under the Thawe police station area.
The twins had left home around 9.30 am on Monday to attend their primary school nearby. When they did not return by 4 pm, their family grew concerned and began searching. Finding the school closed, they circulated their photos on social media, but no leads emerged. A frantic search by villagers led to the shocking discovery of their bodies in the evening.
Their father, Mannu Singh, a mason, has been informed of the tragedy. The gruesome nature of the crime has left the village in fear. “We have never seen anything like this. The amount of mud stuffed into their mouths was horrifying,” said Upendra Prasad Gupta, the village head. He added that parents are now hesitant to send their children to school.
The police have launched an investigation, but no arrests have been made yet. The incident has sparked outrage and demands for swift justice.
