Nalanda: Two men were shot dead in separate incidents in Nalanda district’s Hilsa subdivision, causing panic among local residents. The killings took place in the Nagarnausa and Hilsa police station areas and are believed to be the result of personal rivalries and disputes.
In the first incident, 26-year-old Kundan Kumar, also known as Kailu, was shot by unknown attackers near the old police station in the Nagarnausa area. Locals rushed him to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead. His wife, Madhu Devi, told police that her husband’s murder was linked to an old family rivalry. She said her cousin brother-in-law was kidnapped and killed some months ago, and the case is still in court. She believes this is the reason her husband was targeted.
Nagarnausa police have filed a case against six named and several unknown people. Police station in-charge Pankaj Kumar Pawan said raids are being carried out to catch the accused.
In the second case, 50-year-old farmer Khirodhar Prasad was shot dead in the Koyritola area under Hilsa police station. His son, Ravi Kumar, said he got a call saying his father had been shot. When he reached the spot, he found him lying dead in a pool of blood. Police believe the killing may be related to a dispute over land filling, but the family says they had no known enemies. Hilsa police station in-charge Abhijeet Kumar said the investigation is ongoing.
