Upendra Kushwaha Files Nomination in Sasaram Amid Growing Electoral Momentum
Sasaram: Upendra Kushwaha, the supremo of Rashtriya Lok Morcha and NDA candidate from Karakat, submitted his nomination papers in Sasaram on Friday. Preceding this pivotal moment, Kushwaha’s convoy set off from his office in Dehri, embarking on a ceremonial journey through various landmarks.
The journey commenced with a visit to Tarachandi Dham, where Kushwaha, after performing rituals, proceeded to Pilot Baba Dham. Paying homage and offering prayers, his convoy then made its way into Sasaram city.
In a symbolic gesture, Kushwaha first adorned the statue of Babu Jagdev Prasad at Baulia Chowk, followed by garlanding the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Dharamshala Chowk.
Upon reaching the main gate of the Collectorate, Kushwaha reverently garlanded the statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar before proceeding to file his nomination. Continuing his homage-paying journey, he honored the statues of Shaheed Bhagat Singh in front of Nehru Park, BP Mandal, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and Shaheed Nishan Singh along the GT Road.
Kushwaha’s nomination filing comes amidst a heated electoral atmosphere, with six candidates having already thrown their hats into the ring for the Karakat parliamentary constituency. Notable among them are Raja Ram Singh, a male candidate representing the India Alliance, who filed his nomination on May 8, and independent candidate Pawan Singh, who followed suit on May 9. Additionally, four independent candidates have also entered the fray.
The entrance of Pawan Singh into the electoral race has transformed Karakat into a battleground, with the competition now evolving into a three-way contest. The presence of independent candidate Pawan Singh has sparked widespread discussion and interest across the region, intensifying the electoral dynamics alongside NDA candidate Upendra Kushwaha and India Alliance’s Raja Ram Singh.
