Patna: In a groundbreaking move for the education sector in Bihar, an eagerly anticipated event named “Virtual (V)- YATRA” is poised to unfold on Tuesday, November 28, from 8 am to 9:30 am (Indian Standard Time), bridging the gap between continents as students from St. Karen’s High School, St. Karen’s Secondary School in Patna, and Trinity Grammar School in Melbourne, Australia come together for a cross-cultural exchange.
V-YATRA stands as a pioneering initiative, designed with the intent of fostering cultural understanding and forging connections between students spanning two different hemispheres. “This collaborative effort aims to facilitate a rich and meaningful exchange where students from both Bihar and Australia will share insights into their respective traditions, customs, language, and the intricacies of their daily lives,” said Seema Singh, Principal of St Karen’s High School.
Elaborating on the events to be held during the V-YATRA, the principal of St Karen’s High School, said, “Students from Trinity Grammar School in Melbourne, Australia, will provide live streaming of Australian football for their counterparts at St. Karen’s Group of Schools in Patna. In return, students from Bihar will showcase a live Kabbadi match, highlighting the diverse sporting cultures of both regions.”
Sanjay Joseph, Vice Principal at St. Karen’s High School claimed that students from both schools will participate in a question-and-answer session as well. “This session is designed to broaden their understanding of each other’s cultures, cuisines, academics, technology, and various other aspects that define life in their respective countries,” he said.
St. Karen’s Group of Schools, an institution with a unique identity as a minority Anglo-Indian Christian establishment, was founded by the St. Karen’s Anglo-Indian Educational Society, a registered body. The school is driven by a mission to instill fundamental human qualities, such as respect, compassion, justice, and integrity, among its students. A commitment to discipline and honesty forms the bedrock of the institution, contributing to the development of strong character.
As the curtains rise on V-YATRA, the education sector in Bihar eagerly anticipates the unfolding of this global collaboration, recognizing the potential for meaningful exchanges that transcend borders and enrich the educational experiences of students on both ends of the spectrum.
