Water Resources Department Distributes Appointment Letters to 19 Drivers in Patna

Patna: In a first for the Bihar Water Resources Department, a female driver has been appointed among 19 newly recruited drivers. The candidates were selected through the Driver Competition Examination conducted by the Bihar Technical Services Commission under Advertisement.
At a ceremony held at Sinchai Bhawan, water resources minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and principal secretary Santosh Kumar Mall handed over appointment letters to the new recruits. Speaking at the event, Minister Chaudhary reiterated the government’s commitment to filling vacant positions across all departments under the leadership of chief minister Nitish Kumar. “The recruitment process was conducted with complete transparency, and I urge the newly appointed drivers to carry out their responsibilities with dedication, efficiency, and integrity,” he said.
Secretary Mall highlighted the significance of the milestone, stating that in his 27 years of service, this was the first time a woman had been appointed as a driver in the department. He congratulated all selected candidates and wished them success in their roles.
Senior officials, including additional secretary Naveen, chief engineer (flood control and water drainage) Manoj Raman, chief engineer (headquarters) Sharad Kumar, and chief engineer (irrigation creation) Awadhesh Kumar, were present at the event.
