Woman’s Body Found in Patna: Marks of Wounds Suggest Attack, Investigation Underway
Patna: A woman, identified as Anita Devi (35), was found dead on Sunday in the village of Neerpur, Athmalgola, Patna. The discovery has sent shockwaves through the local community, as the body bore several wounds, suggesting foul play.
Anita’s body was discovered early in the morning near her maternal home, where she had been residing for some time. The police confirmed that there were deep marks on her neck, head, and temple, indicating an attack with a sharp weapon. Authorities have taken custody of the body and sent it to Barh sub-divisional hospital for a post-mortem.
According to the family, Anita had left home the previous afternoon around 11 a.m., telling her parents she was headed to Fatuha to retrieve some jewellery. When she failed to return by evening, her family tried to contact her, but her phone was switched off. Concerned for her safety, they began searching the nearby Fatuha market and surrounding areas but were unable to locate her. Her body was discovered the next morning by villagers on their daily walk, lying lifeless in the street.
Athmalgola Police Station’s Sub-Inspector Subodh Kumar confirmed that the wounds on Anita’s body were caused by a sharp weapon, but the investigation is still ongoing. “The family has not pointed fingers at anyone yet,” Kumar stated, adding that more details will be uncovered after the post-mortem results are released.
Anita’s family is from Masaurhi, where her in-laws reside, but she had been staying with her parents at the time of her disappearance. While her family has refrained from making any public accusations, the community is left in fear and speculation as authorities work to determine what led to her tragic death.
The post-mortem report is expected to provide crucial information to investigators, who have yet to establish a motive for the crime. Local residents are now grappling with the uncertainty surrounding the incident, hoping for answers and justice for Anita.
