Begusarai: A workshop on the “Basics of Indian Pattern Making & Cutting – Womenswear” was held at the Begusarai Extension Centre of NIFT, Patna, from November 11 to 13. The workshop focused on equipping Jeevika Didis with essential techniques in drafting and pattern-making for traditional Indian garments, including blouses, salwars, and kurtis.

The training covered not only foundational pattern drafting but also techniques for modifying necklines, collars, and other design elements to enable participants to personalise and enhance their creations. Many attendees expressed a strong interest in starting their own clothing and tailoring businesses. To support this goal, faculty members offered guidance on forming Producer Groups, a collaborative model to help participants organise and scale their businesses.

At the end of the workshop, the Nodal Officer awarded certificates to 27 Jeevika Didis, recognising their successful participation and newly acquired skills in womenswear design and pattern making.
