‘You Could Not Stop Rohingyas, But Want to Stop Me’: Baba Bageshwar Dham’s Dhirendra Shastri Calls for Hindu Unity in Bihar

Banka/ Patna: Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, the head of Baba Bageshwar Dham, has called for an end to caste divisions among Hindus, urging unity in the community. Speaking at the Sahastra Chandi Maha Yagya cum Mandar Maha Kumbh festival in Gaura village, Banka, on Sunday, Shastri said: “It is written in temples that people should remove their shoes before entering. Instead, we should write—leave casteism at the door and come inside.”

‘Hindus Must Unite’

Addressing a large gathering of devotees, Shastri stressed that Hindu unity was essential for the community’s strength. “Caste divisions have weakened us. It is time for Hindus to come together as one,” he said. His remarks came as thousands gathered in Banka to attend the religious event, marked by fervent devotion and enthusiasm.

‘You Could Not Stop Rohingyas’

Taking aim at his critics, Shastri claimed that there were attempts to prevent him from visiting Bihar. “Before and after I arrived, some people said that Baba should be put in jail, that I should not come to Bihar,” he said. He then criticised what he described as a failure to curb illegal migration. “You could not stop Rohingyas or infiltrators, yet you want to stop me? I am an Indian, Bihar belongs to me as much as it belongs to you,” he declared.

‘Bihar Is the Land of Knowledge and Saints’

Emphasising Bihar’s historical and spiritual significance, Shastri praised the state as a hub of wisdom. “Bihar is the land of saints, the land of Mahants, the land of Chanakya, and the birthplace of Mata Janaki,” he said. He also invoked the story of Ram and Ravan, suggesting that unity among brothers was the key to strength.

The event, held in Gaura village, drew thousands of devotees, who welcomed Shastri with enthusiasm.
