Patna: In a bid to enhance the safety of rail operations, increase train speeds, and provide convenience for road users, the East Central Railway is undertaking a significant construction project of Road Over Bridges (ROBs) and Road Under Bridges (RUBs) at level crossing gates.
Currently, there are 244 ROBs and 383 RUBs operational within the East Central Railway’s jurisdiction. The breakdown includes 130 ROBs and 141 RUBs in the Dhanbad division, 40 ROBs and 60 RUBs in the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay division, 39 ROBs and 66 RUBs in the Danapur division, 15 ROBs and 55 RUBs in the Sonpur division, and 20 ROBs and 61 RUBs in the Samastipur division.
Looking ahead, an additional 109 ROBs and 304 RUBs/Limited Height Subways (LHS) are slated for construction. The planned projects include 22 ROBs and 57 RUBs/LHS in the Dhanbad division, 27 ROBs and 21 RUBs/LHS in the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay division, 16 ROBs and 15 RUBs in the Danapur division, 12 ROBs and 11 RUBs in the Sonpur division, and 32 ROBs and 10 RUBs in the Samastipur division.
