Patna: With assembly elections looming, Bihar’s political script is already thickening—and the Janata Dal (United) has thrown down an unmistakable marker. A striking new banner outside the party’s Patna headquarters proclaims: “25 Se 30, Fir Se Nitish”, projecting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as the face of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for the next five years.
The slogan, referencing the years 2025 to 2030, is more than electoral bravado—it’s a strategic assertion of continuity and leadership within a coalition that has recently seen rumblings of dissent.
The poster comes in the wake of a political ripple caused by Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, who, during a Delhi event, claimed the BJP-led NDA would contest Bihar under Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary.
But the NDA leadership in Bihar moved swiftly to contain the fallout. Samrat Chaudhary, along with state BJP president Dilip Jaiswal and Union Minister Nityanand Rai, issued public reassurances reaffirming Nitish’s leadership. Chaudhary himself was categorical: “Nitish will remain the Chief Minister,” a statement seen as both a clarification and a correction.
In a show of solidarity—and political choreography—top BJP leaders visited Nitish Kumar at his official residence on Wednesday, reportedly to discuss logistics for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Madhubani on April 24. Nitish is expected to accompany the Prime Minister during the visit, reinforcing his central role in the NDA’s campaign narrative.
