38 Candidates Compete in Bihar By-Elections Scheduled for November 13

Patna: By-elections for four Bihar assembly seats—Tarari, Ramgarh, Imamganj, and Belagnj—are set to take place on November 13, with 38 candidates in the running. Originally, 50 nominations were filed, but six were canceled, and another six candidates withdrew during the scrutiny process.

In Tarari, 10 candidates are competing: Vishal Prashant (BJP), Raju Yadav (CPI-ML), Kiran Singh (Jan Suraj Party), Sikandar Kumar (BSP), Upendra Sahni (National Jan Sambhavna Party), Narayan Singh (Voters Party International), Lalu Prasad Yadav (Independent), Ramesh Chandra Ravi (Independent), Rajendra Kumar Pathak (Independent), and Raju Yadav (Independent).

Ramgarh has five candidates: Ashok Kumar Singh (BJP), Ajit Kumar Singh (RJD), Satish Kumar Singh (BSP), Raj Kumar Ram (National Jan Sambhavna Party), and Sushil Kumar Singh (Jan Suraj Party).

Nine candidates are contesting in Imamganj: Deepa Kumari (HAM), Roshan Kumar (RJD), Jitendra Paswan (Jan Suraj Party), Kanchan Paswan (AIMIM), Neelam Kumari (Swadhinata Party), Prabhat Niranjan (People’s Party of India Democratic), Vishwas Manjhi (Azad Samaj Party Kanshi Ram), Ayush Kumar (Independent), and Mukesh Kumar (Independent).

In Belagnj, the constituency with the highest number of candidates at 14, the contenders include Manorama Devi (JDU), Vishwanath Kumar Singh (RJD), Mohammad Amjad (Jan Suraj Party), Abhishek Kumar (National Democratic Front), Tarvez Alam (The National Roadmap Party of India), Manjay Kumar (Kisan Sangharsh Samiti), Munna Kumar (Samajwadi Lok Parishad), Mohammad Jamin Ali Hasan (AIMIM), Kashi Prasad (Independent), Chandan Kumar (Independent), Tanveer Khan (Independent), Priyanka Kumari (Independent), Lalu Yadav (Independent), and Vishwanath Yadav (Independent).

The vote count will take place on November 23, marking an important moment for Bihar’s political landscape, as candidates vie to fill the assembly seats left vacant by former MLAs who have transitioned to roles as MPs.
