Patna: A 4-year-old boy was seriously injured after a neighbour allegedly cut his private part with a sharp weapon in Sohagi, under Gaurichak police station. The child, who had been staying with his grandmother for five months, was attacked while playing near the house on August 14.
According to the child’s aunt, the neighbour, identified as Guddu, lured the boy under the pretext of playing. He first stabbed the child’s neck and later attacked the child’s private area. The child ran to his grandmother’s home, crying and bleeding, after which the family rushed him to Patna Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
The child, a resident of Telhadi in Dhanrua, comes from a family of labourers. His father was at work and his mother was occupied with household chores at the time of the incident. The aunt said there had been no previous disputes with the accused, who has been reportedly using drugs and is currently absconding.
Police have registered a case and are searching for the suspect. The child’s condition is stable, and he continues to receive medical care.
