Arrah: A horrific incident of rape has come to light in Arrah, where a 5th-grade girl was allegedly raped by a 60-year-old man while returning from school on Republic Day.
The girl had gone to school to participate in the flag hoisting ceremony. However, on her way back, the accused, identified as Ajay Singh, forcibly abducted her, tied her up, and brutally assaulted her.
The victim, a 10-year-old girl, recounted the terrifying ordeal, stating that she was returning home when Ajay Singh, a resident of the village, intercepted her approximately 300 meters from her house. He forcibly carried her to his residence despite her pleas and resistance.
The accused, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, threatened to kill the girl if she revealed the incident to anyone. The traumatized girl managed to escape and immediately informed her mother about the horrific experience.
The incident has sparked outrage among the villagers, who are demanding strict punishment for the accused. The victim’s mother expressed deep concern about her daughter’s safety and education, emphasising the need for stringent action to prevent such heinous crimes.
The Geedha police station in-charge, Usam Salma, confirmed the arrest of the accused following a swift police operation. The victim has been taken to Sadar Hospital for medical examination, and the police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
