Patna: The Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) will host the Fourth International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility (ICCSR-2024) on Friday and Saturday, bringing together experts to explore the transformative role of CSR in advancing sustainable rural development.
This year’s conference, themed “CSR and Rural Development: Leveraging Opportunities,” will delve into how Corporate Social Responsibility can act as a catalyst for rural welfare and socio-economic progress. The event will feature a series of activities, including research paper presentations, case studies, and discussions led by industry leaders and youth representatives.
The conference will be inaugurated by Bihar Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, who will highlight the potential of CSR in driving inclusive development within the state. Key highlights include two panel discussions addressing pressing issues in CSR and rural development.
The first discussion, scheduled for December 6, will focus on the theme “CSR and Rural Development: Leveraging Opportunities.” It will explore collaborations between businesses and NGOs to tackle challenges like poverty, infrastructure deficits, and gaps in education and healthcare in rural areas.
The second discussion, to be held on Saturday, is titled “CSR and Risk-Informed Rural Development” and is being organized in collaboration with UNICEF and the Centre for Climate Resilience, DRR, and WASH. This session will examine the role of CSR in addressing climate risks and building resilience in rural communities.
Beyond these panels, the event will feature sessions on the intersection of CSR with global issues such as climate change, gender equality, and community innovation. Networking opportunities will allow participants to engage with experts, exchange ideas, and form partnerships to advance CSR initiatives.
