Kushal Yuva Kendras in Bihar to Be Revamped for Better Skill Development

Patna: A meeting of District Skill Managers (DSMs) of the Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM) was convened on Saturday at the Pratibimb Reception Room in Niyojan Bhawan. The session, chaired by Deepak Anand, Secretary of the Department of Labor Resources, focused on evaluating the performance and quality of Kushal Yuva Kendras (KYKs), which aim to provide skill training to Bihar’s youth.

Senior officials, including ACEO Rajeev Kumar, Mission Director Suresh Kumar Singh, and Atul Suman, were also present. Addressing the gathering, Anand stressed the mission’s objective of empowering the state’s youth with employment-oriented training. He emphasized the need for continuous feedback, transparency in operations, and adherence to quality standards across all centers.

Directive for Improvement and Accountability
The Secretary issued clear instructions to DSMs to improve training services in KYKs through regular inspections and evaluations. “Progress reports must be submitted on time, and centers failing to meet the prescribed standards or found engaging in irregularities will face strict action,” Anand stated.

During the review, deficiencies were identified in the operations and training quality at some centers. Anand directed DSMs to address these shortcomings promptly and to ensure that center managers and trainers are motivated and equipped to deliver high-quality training.

“Kushal Yuva Kendra is committed to making the future of Bihar’s youth bright through employment-oriented training. But this can only be achieved if the centers operate responsibly and maintain training standards. There will be zero tolerance for irregularities,” Anand said.

Feedback and Suggestions for Reform
The meeting also served as a platform for DSMs to share feedback on the functioning of KYKs and propose suggestions for improvement. Centers were urged to take corrective measures based on trainee feedback and operational reports, with a focus on delivering better outcomes.

The initiative underscores the BSDM’s commitment to ensuring the success of skill development programs in Bihar. By addressing operational gaps and prioritizing accountability, the mission aims to empower the state’s youth and foster meaningful employment opportunities.

This meeting marks a significant step in the BSDM’s journey toward transforming skill development in Bihar, reaffirming its resolve to make KYKs a cornerstone of youth empowerment in the state.
