23,562 Candidates Appear for BPSC Assistant Engineer Exam, Tight Security at Bapu Center
Patna: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) conducted a written exam for 118 Assistant Engineer posts on December 18, with 23,562 candidates appearing for the test. The exam was held across 24 centers in Patna, including the Bapu Center. The recruitment is for 113 Civil Engineer positions and 5 Mechanical Engineer positions. To ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the exam, a Quick Response Team (QRT) and a medical team were deployed at the Bapu Center.
The exam was conducted in three shifts, starting from 10 am. The first shift was General English, followed by General Hindi and General Studies. On December 19, candidates will sit for the subject-specific exams for Civil and Mechanical Engineering. Entry for candidates was allowed one hour before the exam.
Tight security measures were in place to prevent malpractice, with 58 static magistrates, 13 zonal magistrates, and police officers deployed. Fourteen additional magistrates were kept on standby at the district control room. Section 163 prohibitory orders were enforced around the exam centers. District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh and SSP Rajiv Mishra inspected the Bapu Center and held a briefing with the invigilators, center superintendents, and police officers, emphasizing that any disturbance during the exam would lead to cancellation of candidature and strict action against anti-social elements.
