Bihar: President Draupadi Murmu to Visit Patna for Three-Day Agricultural Event; Traffic Changes Announced
Patna, 18th October 2023: President Draupadi Murmu is set to arrive in Patna on Wednesday, October 18, at 11:25 am for a three-day visit aimed at dedicating the state’s fourth agricultural roadmap to farmers. The President will be received with a guard of honor and will proceed directly to Bapu Auditorium.
President’s Schedule and Event Details
The inauguration event at Bapu Auditorium is scheduled to take place from 12 noon to 1 pm. Along with President Murmu, Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will also be present. The event will host around 5,000 attendees, including 3,500 farmers and 700 Jeevika Didis. Notably, women farmers are also invited to the program.
According to Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Aggarwal, the fourth agricultural roadmap will involve an expenditure of Rs 162,268.78 crore. Various ministers from different departments will be in attendance, and a dinner will be hosted by the state government at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.

Beyond the roadmap launch, the President will attend the convocation ceremonies of Mahatma Gandhi Central University in Motihari and Patna AIIMS. On October 20, President Murmu will confer medals to students at the convocation ceremony of Central University, South Bihar, in Gaya, before departing for Delhi.
Major Traffic Changes Announced
The arrival of President Murmu will result in significant traffic changes across main roads in Patna. Entry and exit routes for the airport will be altered, and certain roads will be closed to private vehicles. Alternative routes have been provided by Patna Traffic Police for the convenience of daily commuters.
Security Measures
SSP Rajiv Mishra announced that three different routes have been decided for the President’s visits on October 18 and 19. A deputation of 1,200 jawans, along with magistrates and over 250 police officers, will be deployed along these routes. A rehearsal of the President’s carcade, consisting of 35 vehicles, was conducted on Tuesday.
