Patna: Jan Suraaj has filed a petition in the Patna High Court, demanding the cancellation and re-examination of the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination. The writ petition, filed under Article 226, was submitted by advocate Pranav Kumar on behalf of the party. The petition seeks a directive to withhold the declaration of examination results until a re-examination is conducted. The token number of the petition is 438/2025.
The move comes amid ongoing protests led by Prashant Kishore, the leader of Jan Suraaj, who has been on a hunger strike since January 2 in support of BPSC students’ demands. Kishore was arrested on January 6 from the Satyagraha site but was granted bail the same evening. Despite his arrest and subsequent hospitalisation, he continues his hunger strike to advocate for the students’ cause.
Jan Suraaj has alleged irregularities in the conduct of the 70th BPSC examination and is demanding a fair re-examination to uphold the integrity of the process. The petition highlights concerns about transparency and fairness in the examination, urging the court to intervene in the matter.
